Edelbrock Announces E-Force Supercharger System for S197 Mustangs

Edelbrock is excited to announce the release of their E-Force Supercharger system for 2005-09 Ford Mustangs equipped with a 4.6L 3V. This all-new design is engineered and manufactured by Edelbrock and features an Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) GEN VI rotor assembly - the same internals used on the new Corvette ZR-1. This combination improves 2005-2009 4.6L 3-valve Mustangs to an impressive 466 horsepower and 439 ft./lbs. of torque on only five (5) pounds of boost; this is more power per psi than any Mustang supercharger system on the market today.

Vaughn Gitten Jr. Takes First Formula Drift Win with His Falken Tires / Ford Racing Mustang

The Formula DRIFT Championship presented by Circuit City entered the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale for Round 7: "Final Fight". Formula DRIFT history was made tonight as Vaughn Gittin, Jr. won his first Formula DRIFT event ever and Tanner Foust is announced the first Formula DRIFT back to back champion. Rhys Millen also won his second Tires.com Triple Crown bonus prize in his career. Coming into the last event of the Pro Championship series, Round 7: Final Fight saw history take place with Vaughn Gittin, Jr. and his Falken Tires / Ford Racing Mustang battle for his first Formula DRIFT victory ever. Gittin bested Champion Tanner Foust and his Rockstar / AEM Nissan 350 in the final head to head battle.

First Photos of the FR500CJ Cobra Jet Mustang

Ford has released the first images of the new FR500CJ Cobra Jet Mustang, and we can't wait to get the full details when the car is introduced at SEMA in November. What we do know is that the FR500CJ is powered by the supercharged 5.4L modular V8 and features a unique trim and appearance package with a drag race wheel/tire combination. Only 50 will be built for off-road use only at a price of around $65,000.

The Fastest S197 Mustangs Go Head to Head

In a much-anticipated heads-up race, Justin Burcham of JPC Racing and his Procharged S197 Mustang ran against Vinny Barber's turbocharged 2005 Mustang GT built and tuned by Modular Depot. The two ran a best-of three at the NMRA event in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and the results were incredible. Burcham set a new record for the overall fastest S197 Mustang with an 8.53 @ 161 mph, and Barber set a new record for a single power-adder S197 Mustang with an 8.72 @ 158 mph.

Ford Mustangs Clinch Road Racing Championships in North American and Europe

Ford Mustang fans around the world celebrated as America’s original pony car wrapped up racing championships on two different continents. Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell won the Grand-Am KONI Challenge series championship in North America and Eric de Doncker repeated as the GT4 European Cup champion in Europe. Foster and Maxwell capped a terrific season with a fifth-place finish in the KONI season finale in Alton, Va. During the season, the duo combined for two wins, five top-fives and eight top-10s on their way to capturing the drivers’ and team championship. They become the second Mustang FR500C drivers to win a KONI championship, with the first coming in 2005.

Mustangs at Queen Mary 2008

For more than a decade now the Mustangs at Queen Mary show is one of the favorite events on the calendar because of the beautiful setting in the Long Beach harbor. Hundreds of Mustangs gathered once again for the 12th annual event, and there were plenty of beautiful S197 Mustangs on display. One of the main features in this year's show was the gathering of Saleen Mustangs for Saleenfest. As part of the celebration, both Parnelli Jones and Dan Mustang were on hand to sign autographs, and the new Dark Horse Extreme Mustang was publically displayed for the first time. The show also celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the Bullitt Mustang, and Chad McQueen, son of Steve McQueen joined up with the Bullitt owners to talk and sign autographs. Shelby also had an impressive display, showing off their SuperSnake and Terlingua Mustangs.
