Mickey Knauss has been obsessed with cars since he can remember. He’s always been especially fond of American muscle cars, and thought he’d died and gone to heaven when
he first saw his first S197 Saleen Mustang. “It was a black Extreme with the carbon fiber diffusers and had the sleekest, sexiest bodykit I had ever seen in my life,”
Mickey remembers. “From that day on, I told all my friends and family I would buy one soon enough and of course they laughed.” Despite being only 18 years old at the
time, Mickey surprised everyone by getting the money for a down payment and took the plunge on a used Saleen 3V. Black, of course, like the first one he had seen.

Featured: Troy Coughlin's Granatelli Turbocharged Saleen Mustang
Posted 4.19.2008 in Features
You would think that after strapping yourself in a 2,700 hp, turbocharged Pro-Mod Pontiac GTO, that you’d get the speed bug out of you. But that’s not the case for
Troy Coughlin of Jegs, who along with the rest of his family, own and operate the large automotive aftermarket mail-order company. Coughlin is a racer at heart and
decided he wanted a unique Mustang that could be used as a daily driven vehicle which at the same time satisfies his hunger for extreme performance.
Coughlin started out with a brand new 2008 Saleen Mustang and immediately shipped it off to Granatelli Motorsports in Oxnard, California. According to JR Granatelli,
Couglin wanted the Saleen Mustang “tweaked” to make it to his liking. This meant building upon the vehicle’s capabilities to further bring it up to the horsepower level
and handling capabilities that Coughlin has grown accustomed to.

Featured: "Stang Skeleton" - Zeeshan Mohamed's 2006 Mustang GT
Posted 4.3.2008 in Features
Zeeshan Mohamed has always loved Mustangs, in particular the 1965-1968 Fastback models. So as soon as the S197 Mustang was released with styling cues similar to the
first generation Mustang, he went out and got his hands on a black-on-black 2006 Mustang GT with every available option. “Stang Skeleton” was born!
Having previously modified his 2005 Cadillac Escalade, Zeeshan was no stranger to building a custom car. While he didn’t have anything specific in mind when he bought
his Mustang, he quickly knew that he wouldn’t be keeping it stock. “I’ve always found room for improvement in any car I’ve driven,” he confessed. It wasn’t long before
he got a feel for his Mustang and figured out what he wanted to change. The result is one of the cleanest (and meanest) Mustangs we’ve ever come across.

some pretty impressive cars. In his soft spoken voice, he’ll inform you that this particular Mustang makes
over 1200 horsepower to the rear wheels. This custom 2007 Mustang convertible is undoubtedly one of the more
extreme Mustangs you’ll ever see.

Featured: Kenne Bell Shelby GT500
Posted 10.17.2007 in Features
If there is anything the 2007 Shelby GT500 is lacking, it certainly is not power. The GT500 is a little (okay, a lot!) on
the heavy side at around 4000 pounds, and the suspension might struggle to keep up with the rest of the car, but at 500
engine horsepower and 480 lb-ft torque the Shelby rarely receives complaints about a lack of power. At least you would
think so. For those that think 500 horsepower is just a starting point, Kenne Bell has the answer. The supercharger experts
based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA have focused their forced induction expertise on Ford’s current flagship model and have come
up with some pretty impressive results.

John Temple can’t remember a time in his life that he wasn’t into cars. Literally. He can recall as far back as
age three that he had a love for automobiles. “I can remember standing on the seat of my Dad’s 32 deuce roadster
with its green tuck and roll vinyl interior and chrome steering wheel looking at the Buick Nailhead engine. It’s
amazing how that car and the sounds of it were embedded in my mind at such and early age. I even remember the two
57 Thunderbirds he was working on at the same time. The excitement just elevated from there with car shows and swap
meets and the adventure of looking for parts for whatever project we were working on.”

Featured: Scott and Regina Erickson's 2006 Mustang GT
Posted 6.21.2007 in Features
Scott and Regina Erickson, like so many other Mustang owners, are a true testament to Ford’s success with the
design of the current model Mustang. “I saw it and knew immediately I had to have one,” said Scott, referring to
the red Mustang convertible concept he saw at the 2003 Los Angeles Auto Show. It wasn’t until three years later,
however, when he and his wife Regina were looking for a new vehicle that they actually purchased the car. Scott
and his wife were looking at a new Ford SUV to haul around the kids when he suggested they “look” at the new Mustang
GT’s on the lot and maybe go for a short test drive. Despite informing the salesman that they had no interest in
purchasing the car, a short drive erased all previous intentions of buying a family-friendly vehicle. Scott and
Regina purchased a Performance White Mustang GT, and even before driving off the lot Scott had already started to
think of ways to improve the car.

Roush Performance has one of the most extensive product lineups of performance products for the new Mustang. They
also offer several complete cars, ranging from a basic Stage 1 car with just a Roush body kit all the way to a fully
loaded Stage 3 Mustang with a supercharger, suspension upgrades, and a custom interior. While one of these Mustangs
can be purchased directly off the showroom floor, many people want to build their own so that they can place their
personal touch on the car. Hillbank Motorsports, Roush’s leading retailer, did just that and built a custom Roush Mustang
that is unlike any other. “We wanted to show what one could do with their Mustang with all the Roush parts available. We
used just about everything Roush has available and then some,” said Jason Cenora, motorsports sales director of Hillbank.

When upgrading the appearance of their Mustang, most owners don’t consider exterior and interior upgrades to be
performance oriented. Many of the scoops, spoilers, and air dams are just for looks, and custom interiors and
mobile audio equipment do nothing to improve how a Mustang drives. For the guys at Agent 47, it’s a whole different
story. The prototyping and manufacturing company based in Carlsbad, CA uses their racing experience in the NASA
American Iron Racing Series to develop high quality products for the Mustang that not only look good, but are functional
as well. They pride themselves in that fact that there is a direct correlation between the products that are used in
their race car and the products they sell. In fact, this is the very reason for the creation of Agent 47. “More and
more people want a car that will perform on the track as well as on the street,” said CEO Corey Weber, who had grown
tired of seeing so many products that were simply cosmetic upgrades or just quick fixes. He wanted serious performance
parts for road racing, and he believed that other Mustang owners would want them as well. And so began Agent 47 with
their “race what we sell” mentality.

If you’ve ever looked for aftermarket parts for your Mustang, you’ve probably heard of Haney Motorsport. The
Texas-based vendor has been selling go-fast parts for the Mustang since 1997, and has established itself as one
of the most trusted and successful retailers in the country. While HMS sells a wide variety of parts from several
different manufacturers, its specialty is Saleen. Haney Motorsport has been an official retailer since 1998, and
current owner Casey Schwebel has been a Saleen fanatic and owner for the better part of twenty years. Even the idea
of selling Mustang parts was started after company founder Pat Haney fitted a Saleen body kit on his 1996 GT Convertible.

modular-powered Mustang, running a 7.17 @ 196 mph that is still a record today. Since its inception, JR’s company has

It was a classic case of love at first sight. When the S197 Mustang launched for the 2005 model year, Eric Rojany knew
he had to be involved with the car. He believed everything about the car had potential, especially the 3-valve engine
and the new retro design. Rojany dropped out of the motorcycle industry and opened up a retail and installation shop in
Gardena, CA dealing specifically with the 2005+ Mustang. Despite being just a one man operation, the business grew quickly
because of the large number of Mustang owners in Southern California and the large number of aftermarket parts available for
the car. Having a passion for building cars, it was an easy decision for Rojany to build a show car that would help promote his business.

Posted 12.9.2006 in News
No other aftermarket company has had a longer relationship with Ford and the Mustang than Shelby. With its
recent resurgence into the aftermarket for the S197, Mustang owners can own and drive a genuine modern-day
Shelby Mustang. Last year’s SEMA brought the CS6 Mustang, a V6 Mustang featuring a host of performance and
suspension upgrades. While pushing well over 300 supercharged horsepower, the CS6 still left a lot to be
desired. Shelby finally brought the goods at the 2006 SEMA Show when it announced its new parts program for
2005+ Mustangs that included a Shelby CS8 package. While the CS8 isn’t an official limited-edition Shelby
vehicle with a serial number like the CS6, GT-H, or upcoming Shelby GT, parts can only be purchased through
Shelby or one of their authorized dealers.
